Research supports the effectiveness of Jason DeShaw’s presentation

The Center for Mental Health Research and Recovery (CMHRR) at Montana State University recently studied the effectiveness of Jason DeShaw’s Serenity in the Storm presentations to Montana students. A total of 612 high school students who attended his performances participated in the study. The research provides promising evidence that the intervention in the form of DeShaw’s performances was effective for:

1. Reducing mental health stigma

2. Increasing students’ willingness to seek help for mental health issues

3. Increasing students’ willingness to work in a mental health field
